With the upcoming trade show season about to begin there are many opportunities to attract new clients. Here are our tips on how to maximize your social media presence at your next event:
Properly using your social media outlets at a tradeshow can have great advantages but if conducted poorly can have devastating consequences as well.
People want the simplest way to connect with you and what you are doing. Be available to every potential person that you come in contact with. Talk about your entire team at the booth not just one person, make yourself as personable as possible.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and with attaching photos of your team and booth you can really add character to your tweets. It allows your potential customers to be able to view not just what you are doing but also where your team is located at the trade show.
If you just use your social media outlets as a megaphone and tweet “COME CHECK OUT OUR BOOTH” all day nobody will want to read anything you have to say. Interact with those who tweet or post to your social media outlets during an event and make them feel important and unique. Make it easy for those people to share their positive experiences with your company.
Advertise contests through your social media outlets at events. Entice people to stop by your booth for a deal. Use signs outside your booth that also display your contest to further attract participants.
Shoot some quick testimonials of customers at the trade show to post to your social media outlets. Try to include a good balance of reviews about your company and their material and about the event itself.
Make a blog post before, during, and after the event. This allows for even more exposure to potential customers. By posting before an event you can “tease” about what surprises you have in store at the event. And after the event talk about what a successful show you had and thank everyone for coming out.
Have your newsletter sign up available and posted to all your social media outlets. This allows for communication with potential customers long after the trade show has ended.
Have creative handouts to display and give out. The most successful handouts are ones that involve customer interaction and have a call to action. Include your social media outlets on the handouts along with your email address to provide multiple avenues for them to contact you.
By properly incorporating your social media outlets at your next trade show you will be able to get more commitments, close deals, and book more appointments.
